Kimberly Cooper, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Cooper knew by the age of 10 that she would be a veterinarian. It was at that time that her childhood pet, Abby, became critically ill. Through the amazing care and compassion of the family vet, Abby's life was saved, and Dr. Cooper was overcome with gratitude. She felt a strong desire from that moment on to return that favor by taking care of any pet in need as if it were her own.
Dr. Cooper grew up in Parma as the middle child in a family of five. Through high school and college, she flourished in math, science, and other pre-veterinary courses while working part-time at a local animal hospital. She applied to the Ohio State University (OSU) College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1998 with a DVM degree. After working for three years in the Columbus area at an AAHA-accredited hospital, she moved back to the Cleveland area in 2001 to join the Crossroads Animal Hospital team as an associate veterinarian.
Dr. Cooper has been married to Joel for 25 years. They have two children: a daughter, Jordan, and a son, Noah. The family also includes three rescue cats named Sparkles, Fern, and Mochi, and a rescue dog named Thea.
Most of Dr. Cooper's free time is spent with her family. They love vacationing together in Myrtle Beach and swimming in the neighborhood pool. When she has some time to herself, Dr. Cooper likes to either relax and read a good novel or stay active and exercise.
